He was in the Army serving in World War II and was a POW. He also served in the Korean War.

At the time of his death his only son has passed away 1 month proir due to cancer.

Another soldier who saved this planet from Hitler.
Do the young ones this day and age know what happened???No. sometimes I wonder if this world might have been a better place with him in control/.
No drive by shootings no drugs like crack to effect our kids. All the murders.
Who knows what this worl might be like now in his control.
If tears could build a stairway
And memories were a lane
We would walk right
up to Heaven
And bring you back again.....
No farewell words were spoken
No time to say goodbye
You were gone
before we knew it
And only God knows why......
Our hearts still ache in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No on will ever know.....
We all will feel better.......
One gift, above all others
God gives to us to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure
The precious, poignant tender gift
Of Memory...that will keep
Of dear ones ever in our hearts
Although God gives them sleep
It brings back long remembered things
A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place
...because
We had them for awhile!
